Athens, October 20th, 2021 – Polygreen, the Greek-based international Group of circular economy and environmental protection solutions, is strengthening its leadership with the creation of a highly experienced team. Lavrentis Alvertis will chair the new team which will aim at accelerating the delivery of a number of circular economy and environmental sustainability projects in Greece, as well as at transfering Polygreen's much acclaimed know-how to other parts of the world, mainly the Middle East and Mauritius, where Polygreen is already present.
The new management team comprises the following members:
Lavrentis Alvertis has been appointed General Manager in July 2021. After the completion of his studies in Law, Lavrentis gained a solid professional experience in executive positions across various business sectors, including Financial Services, Insurance and Healthcare.
Vicky Davidopoulou has been appointed Group Legal Director, having more 17 years of experience as legal advisor to major corporations in the sectors of waste management, energy trading and renewable energy.
Rena Doukaki has been appointed Group People and Culture Director. With more than 18 years of experience in Human Resources, Rena has held executive positions in several organizations both in Greece and abroad.
Giorgos Kotopoulos is the new Group Finance Director, having more than 20 years of experience in leadership roles in large corporations in the Financial, Banking and Technology sectors.
Elli Panagiotopoulou joined Polygreen in January 2021 as Group Communications and Corporate Affairs Director, after a long professional experience in leadership roles in Communications and Corporate Affairs for multinational companies and agencies in Greece, the UK and Switzerland.
Stamatis Tsoumpris, with over 13 years of experience in commercial and operations roles in Waste Management, Energy and Packaging, has been appointed Group Operations Director as of July 2021.
Polygreen's founder, Athanasios Polychronopoulos, a businessman with over 20 years of delivering challenging environmental projects in Greece and abroad, remains the Group CEO.
Under the new leadership, Polygreen is raising the standards in its service offering while it proceeds with its investment plan, committed to reinforce its leading position in the global market.
