Athanasios Polychronopoulos
Founder and CEO

Athanasios Polychronopoulos is the founder and the CEO of the Polygreen Group of Companies.

He is a graduate of the Department of Business Administration and Management of the University of Piraeus and has attended business administration and management seminars at Stanford University and Harvard.

His professional life is inextricably linked to the enviroment. In more than 20 years of successful career, he has managed some of the most demanding and technically challenging enviromental projects around the world. Athanasios is a member of SEV Business Council for Sustainable Development (SEV BCSD). At the same time, as an avid supporter of the arts, he founded PCAI, in 2014 with the objective to raise enviromental awareness through Art.


Lavrentis Alvertis
General Manager

Lavrentis joined Polygreen in July 2021 as General Manager. Lavrentis studied law at the Athens Law School and holds a PostGraduate Degree in International Business and European Law from Lille University. He has a solid professional experience as Legal Advisor and as manager in several companies and groups, in the financial and insurance sector, in medical services, television and cinema and, more recently, in the industries of production and distribution of plastics, chemicals and construction materials as well as in real estate sector.

Giorgos Kotopoulos
Group Finance Director

Giorgos joined Polygreen in October 2021 as Group Finance Director having 20+ years of experience in leadership Finance roles in investment, technology, house appliances and, banking sectors serving Greece and foreign markets. He holds an MBA from Athens University of Economics & Business, an MSc in Finance and a Bachelor in Industrial Engineering from the Wichita State University.

Vicky Davidopoulou
Group Legal Director

Vicky joined Polygreen in October 2021 as Group Legal Director having 17+ years of experience as Legal Advisor in major Greek companies focusing on waste management, Energy Trading, Renewable Energy Sources and Legal Services. She holds a LLM in Computer and Communication Law from the Queen Mary University of London, MSc in Business Studies for Law Practitioners from ALBA and BA in Law from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Law School. Vicky is admitted before the Supreme Court.

Elli Panagiotopoulou
Group Communications and Corporate Affairs Director

Elli joined Polygreen in January 2021 as Group Communications and Corporate Affairs Director, having 20+ years of experience in Communications and Corporate Affairs roles in multinational companies and agencies and Greece, London and Switzerland. She holds an MSc in International Relations from the London School of Economics and a Bachelors Degree in Political Science from the University of Athens and has followed a number of specialization courses in Athens, Milan and New York.

Stamatis Tsoumpris
Group Operations Director

Stamatis joined Polygreen in June 2020 as Group Operations Director having 15+ experience in leadership commercial and operations roles in hazardous & non – hazardous waste management, plastic recycling, paper mills, technical fabrics & packaging sectors. He holds a MSc in Management from the University of Salford, a Diploma in Shipping & Chartering from Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers and BA in Business Economics from Manchester Metropolitan University.

Haris Markaki
Customer Experience Director

Haris joined Polygreen in December 2021 as Customer Experience Director having 25+ years of experience in management positions in financial services marketing. Her mission has always been to keep the organization focused on the customer. She believes that building a customer experience around values is the best way to create a lasting connection with the customers. Haris holds a Bachelor’s in French Literature from the University of Athens and has completed a series of independently offered university courses in the fields of communication and digital marketing.

Kostas Georgakopoulos
New Business Manager

Kostas joint Polygreen in December 2021 as New Business Manager having more than 15 years of experience in the commercial departments of large Greek companies active in the recycling and waste management. He holds a bachelor’s degree from the Geology Department of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.

Imran Gill
CEO Middle East

Imran has competencies in the fields of corporate development, corporate turnarounds, M&As, partnerships, business growth strategies, and strategic management.

He carries the experience in diverse businesses including marine, construction, consumer electronics, and environment.

Prior to joining Polygreen, Imran headed corporate strategy and planning for Oman Drydock Company, a $2b investment of Oman Government, and played a key role to turn around the organization.

In Samsung, he developed and executed the distribution and channel strategy to triple the growth of the business.

Makis Spyratos
Country Manager Oman

Makis has strong expertise in the fields of business development, strategic planning, customer and sales management. Prior to joining Polygreen, Makis headed commercial department of ZMS SA which doubled the revenues of industrial equipment and extended sales to new market channels. In Polyeco SA, he research the market of various countries in South East Europe while he achieved contracts with private sector customers, international organizations and governments. As Country Manager in Oman for Polygreen, he is also leading the efforts for Business Development in the Middle East region.


Kostas Chatzatoglou
Country Manager Mauritius

Kostas was born in Athens and studied Chemical Engineering at the National Technological University of Athens. He has extensive experience in the environmental sector and in specific in waste management. Having more than 10 years of experience in Environmental Protection, Project Management and Waste Management for all types of wastes (industrial, hazardous, non hazardous, medical, municipal, recyclable etc.), he is specialized in Hazardous Waste and in Ship Generated Waste according to MARPOL Convention requirements for Port Facilities and he is a certified Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor (DGSA).
As from 2017, Kostas is the Country Manager for Mauritius responsible for the establishment and operation of the only licensed facility for Hazardous Waste Management in the Country in cooperation and under a contract with the Ministry of Environment of Mauritius and the development of the company in local market.
