Three Circular Economy Awards for Polygreen

*Significant distinctions for Polygreen in the Recycling and Zero Waste categories at the Circular Economy Awards

Athens, February 24, 2022 - Polygreen has won three major awards, in just its first year of operation in Greece, at this year's Circular Economy Awards. Specifically, Polygreen won the Gold Award in the Recycling category (Compost - Materials Recovery) for its We Sea More II initiative, while for its Just Go Zero Coffee programme it won the Silver Award in the same Recycling (Compost - Materials Recovery) category and the Bronze Award in the Zero Waste category.

WE SEA MORE II is an initiative of Polygreen and Nestlé Hellas, based on innovative technologies. It aims to detect, record, collect and recycle waste in the marine ecosystem. Just Go Zero Coffee is an innovative programme for the circular management of coffee, launched by Polygreen with the first partner company everest restaurant chain. Through the programme, which is part of the overall framework of the first 'Just Go Zero' circular economy 'movement', coffee residues are composted and turned into a soil conditioner.

Commenting on the awards, Ms Elli Panagiotopoulou, Polygreen's Group Communications and Corporate Affairs Director said: "The key objective of Polygreen and our Just Go Zero platform is to develop circular economy solutions and practices tailored specifically to the needs of each of our customers or partners. Today's awards, which involve our partnerships with companies that are among the best in their fields, underscore the power of collaboration in the fight to address today's environmental challenges and are a reward for the collective effort of our entire team. We are only at the beginning."

The Circular Economy Awards are organised by BOUSSIAS and reward best practices in integrated waste management, new circular models of economic activity, as well as companies that have expertise and contribute to the effort of transitioning to a circular economy model. The award ceremony took place on Wednesday 23 February 2022, at the Radisson Blu Park Hotel.
